Women’s 4x400m Relay Reaches Final Round

RESULTS: TEXAS RELAYS | SAN FRANCISCO STATE DISTANCE CARNIVAL | STANFORD INVITATIONAL

PITTSBURGH – Pitt track and field competed at three different meets across the country Friday.

Below are highlights from each competition.

CLYDE LITTLEFIELD TEXAS RELAYS BUILT BY THE HOME DEPOT (Austin, Texas)

The women's 4x400m relay team of seniors Morgan Harvey, Quadaisha Newkirk, Laila Ismail and Desiree Garland won its heat and placed fourth overall in the preliminary round at 3:39.56. The squad qualified to compete in the final at 5:05 p.m. ET Saturday.

SAN FRANCISCO STATE DISTANCE CARNIVAL (Hayward, Calif.)

Junior Natalie Hilton finished 10th with a personal record of 10:47.23 in the women's 3000m steeplechase.
Senior Amy Kelly was Pitt's top finisher in the women's 1500m at 16th with a time of 4:32.99.
On the men's side, sophomore Drew Glick was the top finisher for the Panthers, coming in 20th at 3:34.21.

STANFORD INVITATIONAL (Stanford, Calif.)

Sophomore Danté Watson took fourth overall in the men's 400m and tied a personal record at 48.47.
Junior Miranda Salvo placed fourth in her section of the women's 1500m at 4:26.76.
Senior Kelly Hayes finished in 10:23.08 to place fifth in her section of the women's 3000m steeplechase.

UP NEXT

Pitt will close competition at four different meets Saturday, starting with women's hammer throw at the Raleigh Relays set for 9:45 a.m. in Raleigh, N.C.
