Nine Panthers Named to EAGL All-Tournament Teams

Pitt Gymnasts Earn First and Second Team Honors
TOWSON, Md. – Nine gymnasts from the University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team were named to East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) All-Tournament first and second teams, Sunday, March 23 at the 2018 EAGL Championship.
To earn All-Tournament honors, competing gymnasts must finish in the top 16. The top eight are named first-team recipients, while the following eight garner second-team accolades.
Pitt had seven gymnasts earn first team honors, five of which placed in the top eight on bars. Freshman Haley Brechwald led the Panthers as she earned first-team honors on bars, floor and in the all-around. Brechwald finished second overall on floor and third in the all-around.
Joining Brechwald in the top eight on bars was junior Lucy Brett, who finished second overall in the event, senior Catie Conrad and sophomores Megan Tripp and Lucy Jones.
On vault, sophomore Alecia Petrikis was named to the first team, while freshman Jordan Ceccarini earned top honors on floor.
Pitt had four gymnasts earn second-team honors, with three receiving the award on vault in Brechwald, junior Kensleigh Owens and sophomore Deven Herbine.
Owens was also named to the second team on floor, while Conrad found success on beam.
