PITTSBURGH –Pitt women's cross country will travel to University Park, Pa., for the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational Friday.

The 6K race is set to begin at 10 a.m. ET. A recap, including results and times, will be posted to PittsburghPanthers.com.

SCOUTING THE FIELD

Competing schools include Bucknell, Edinboro, No. 26 Georgetown, No. 11 Penn State, Pittsburgh, (RV) Syracuse, and (RV) West Virginia.

LAST TIME OUT

Sophomore Jackson Morton and senior Kelly Hayes picked up individual wins for Pitt at its season-opening meet, the Duquesne Duals, Saturday at Schenley Park.
The wins were the first of each individual's Pitt cross country career. Hayes won the women's 5K with a personal-best time of 17:58.9, and Morton recorded a personal best on the Schenley Park 8K course time of 26:08.7.
The meet was scored as duals between the competing schools so no official team results were posted. However, according to individual points scored, the Pitt women were champions and the men were runners-up. It was the women's first season-opening team win since the 2014 SHU Griffin Classic.

UP NEXT

The Pitt men's cross country team will compete next at the UB Stampede Invitational Friday, Sept. 15, at 11 a.m. ET in Amherst, N.Y.
Both Pitt squads will be in action at the Notre Dame/Joe Piane Invitational Friday, Sept. 29, in Notre Dame, Ind.
