PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh men's soccer team resumes conference action Friday, Sept. 29 when No. 21 Syracuse pays a visit to Ambrose Urbanic Field at 7 p.m.
Pitt enters Friday's contest 4-5-0 overall while still searching for its first ACC win with a 0-3-0 record. The 21st-ranked Orange are 5-3-2 overall, while also searching for their first conference win with a 0-2-1 record.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Panthers had a historic outing in their last time out, defeating long-time rival West Virginia 7-0 on Tuesday.
- Pitt netted four goals in the opening frame and three more in the second half to capture its first win over the Mountaineers since 2000.
- The victory marked the largest win-margin over WVU in program history and the largest win-margin for the Panthers since a 9-0 win over Howard in 2013.
- Six different Panthers contributed goals in the win including sophomore Alex Peperak, senior Pol Planellas, junior Joshua Gaspari, freshman Alexander Dexter and redshirt freshman Tim Ekponé, while freshman Edward Kizza sent in two of his own.
SCOUTING THE ORANGE
- Syracuse comes to Pittsburgh after a 2-0 win over Cornell Monday, Sept. 25.
- Prior to Tuesday's win, the Orange suffered three-straight losses, including two to ACC opponents.
- Syracuse checks in at No. 21 in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll as they were previously ranked 11th.
- The Orange are led by junior midfielder Jonathan Hagman with 10 points on the year, netting a team-best five goals.
- In goal, junior Hendrik Hilpert has made nine starts in 2017 making 23 saves and allowing 13 goals.
- The Orange concluded the 2016 season 12-4-4 overall and went 3-2-3 in conference play.
- Syracuse reached the third round of the NCAA Tournament, falling to ACC foe and eventual semifinalist North Carolina.
