Pitt, Cincinnati Battle to 2-2 Draw

Panthers Remain Unbeaten on the Season
CINCINNATI – Another double overtime battle ensued for the University of Pittsburgh women's soccer team Thursday night, as the Panthers competed to a 2-2 draw with Cincinnati at Gettler Stadium.
The Panthers jumped out to an early lead, as a pair of goals from redshirt junior Taylor Pryce put Pitt up 2-0 early in the second half. .
Pryce's first came just six minutes into the contest as she found the left corner of the net to put the Panthers on top 1-0. A little more than two minutes into the second frame, Pryce did it again, finishing a breakaway from Jess McCoppin.
Cincinnati would cut the lead to 2-1 a few minutes later, as a diving header found the back of the net.

The Panthers will wrap up their Cincinnati, Ohio roadtrip on Sunday, visiting Xavier at 1 p.m. Pitt will return to Ambrose Urbanic Field Aug. 30, kicking off a two-game homestand.

Reigning ACC Defensive Player of the Week, Katelyn McEachern, would come up big in the extra time, as Cincinnati peppered the redshirt freshman with shots. Despite their attempts, McEachern would hold strong, as the two teams competed to a 2-2 tie.
With the draw, the Panthers moved to 2-0-1 on the season. Pryce led the offense with two goals off four shots, while McCoppin added the lone assist. Sarah Krause added one shot attempt. McEachern recorded eight saves, allowing her first goals of the season to snap a streak of 247:23 minutes of scoreless action.
