THE OPENING TIP
- • Pitt faces Penn State Monday, Nov. 20, in the second semifinal game of the Progressive Legends Classic. The contest will tip at 9:30 p.m. at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. and will be broadcast on ESPN3.
- Ryan Luther and Jonathan Milligan are the lone returning scholarship letterwinners for the Panthers. Pitt welcomes 11 new scholarship players to the roster for the 2017-18 season.
- Pitt is 9-1 all-time in Legends Classic contests, claiming team titles in 2008 and 2013.

LAST TIME OUT
- Pitt overcame a 10-point first half deficit to claim its first win of the season with a 70-62 decision over UC Santa Barbara.
- Ryan Luther recorded his second consecutive double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. He went 5-of-9 from the field and matched a career high with three three-point field goals.
- Jonathan Milligan sparked the Panther offense with a career-high 14 points to go along with two rebounds, three assists and a steal. He was 4-of-5 from the field with a pair of three-point field goals.
- Jared Wilson-Frame notched 14 points for his third consecutive double-figure scoring game, while Parker Stewart (12) and Shamiel Stevenson (11) also scored in double figures.

- Pitt reached the 1,600-win mark in Wednesday's victory over UC Santa Barbara. Pitt, one of six ACC programs with 1,600 wins, is 1,600-1127 in its 111th season of play.
- Pitt is one of 12 NCAA Division I programs to post more than 400 wins since the start of the 2001-02 season. The Panthers' 402 wins are the fifth most in the ACC in that span.
- Jared Wilson-Frame comes to Pitt with a reputation of being an explosive scorer. In two seasons at Northwest Florida State Junior College, he scored 981 points (15.1 ppg.), while making 155 three-point field goals. Wilson-Frame is averaging a team-high 16.3 points per game, while shooting 50.0 percent (17-of-34) from the field.
- Ryan Luther has posted a double-double in each of the first two games of the Progressive Legends Classic. Luther has scored in double figures in all three games this season and is averaging 15.0 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.
- Shamiel Stevenson has scored in double figures in each of the past two games and is averaging 15.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in that span. He is averaging 12.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, while shooting 54.5 percent (12-of-22) from the field, on the season.
- Pitt is one of seven programs in the NCAA returning no starters from a season ago. The Panthers entered the season with an NCAA-low three career starts combined (Ryan Luther [2], Jonathan Milligan [1]) from its roster.
- Pitt's seven-player freshmen class - Terrell Brown, Marcus Carr, Khameron Davis, Samson George, Peace Ilegomah, Shamiel Stevenson and Parker Stewart - is tied for the largest freshmen class in the NCAA. Pitt's freshmen class is averaging 30.3 points, 13.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game through three contests.
- The Panthers' Canadian tandem of Marcus Carr and Shamiel Stevenson combines to average 19.6 points, 9.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.
- Pitt's top three scorers - Jared Wilson-Frame (16.3 ppg.), Ryan Luther (15.0 ppg.) and Shamiel Stevenson (12.3 ppg.) - combine for 43.6 points per game, while shooting 51.6 percent (48-of-93) from the field. The trio accounts for 62.3 percent of the team's scoring and has combined for eight double-figure scoring games.
- The Panthers have an NCAA-high 11 scholarship newcomers on the roster this season. Pitt's three returning letterwinners - Ryan Luther, Jonathan Milligan and Zach Smith - are tied for the fifth fewest in the NCAA.
- Pitt's five international prospects - Marcus Carr, Kene Chukwuka, Samson George, Peace Ilegomah and Shamiel Stevenson - are the most in program history.
- Pitt's roster features seven players with wingspans of 6-10 or better. Freshmen Peace Ilegomah and Terrell Brown lead the way with wingspans of 7-4 and 7-3, respectively.
- Pitt has had a double-figure scorer off the bench in each of the first three games and is averaging 21.3 points per game off the bench on the season.
- The Panthers have started a different lineup in each of the first three games with eight players starting a game. Ryan Luther and Jared Wilson-Frame are the lone players to start all three games for the Panthers. The duo combines to average 33.5 points and 13.4 rebounds per game.
- Pitt is 3-1 all-time at the Barclays Center. The Panthers posted wins over Texas Tech (80-67) and Stanford (88-67) to win the 2013 Legends Classic and topped Georgia Tech (61-59) in the opening round of the 2017 ACC Tournament at the venue.
- Pitt's first three games have been decided by nine points or fewer, marking the first time since the 1975-76 season the first three games of the season were decided by single digits. The first five games of the 1952-53 season were each decided by nine points or fewer.
