Pitt Hosts No. 19 Akron in Final Non-Conference Game Tuesday

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh men's soccer team hosts No. 19 Akron Tuesday, Oct. 24 in its final non-conference game of 2017. The Panthers and Zips kick off at 7 p.m. at Ambrose Urbanic Field in the Petersen Sports Complex.
Pitt enters Tuesday's match 8-7 overall with a 2-5 mark against ACC opponents. The 19th-ranked Zips are 10-3-1 on the year with a 2-1 record against MAC foes.

- Akron has faced seven ranked opponents in 2017 and have gone 4-3 against those teams. The Zips most recently defeated then-ranked No. 8 Notre Dame, 2-0, Oct. 17.
- Akron is led by Sam Gainforod with 14 points (five goals, four assists) on the year, while Nick Hinds is close behind with 10 points (four goals, two assists).
- In goal, Ben Lundt has played the majority of minutes and has recorded four shutouts with a 0.58 goals against average.
- The Zips' defense has allowed just eight goals, while putting in 26 of their own.
