Panthers Conclude Regular Season Friday, Oct. 27 vs. Virginia Tech
PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh men's soccer team fell 3-0 to No. 14 Akron Tuesday night at Ambrose Urbanic Field in the Petersen Sports Complex.
With the loss, Pitt moves to 8-8 overall while Akron improves to 11-3-1 on the year.
The Zips netted the first goal of the night just two minutes into the match off the foot of Nick Hinds.
The Panthers held off Akron until the 78th minute when Skye Harter buried the Zips' second goal.
Hinds struck again in the 81st minute with the insurance goal, bringing the score to the eventual final, 3-0.
Akron out-shot the home team 10-3, while finishing with a 6-5 edge in corners.
Redshirt sophomore Mikal Outcalt made seven saves in goal against the nationally ranked foe.
Pitt concludes the regular season Friday, Oct. 27 when Virginia Tech makes the trip to Pittsburgh.
