LEADING OFF
- Pitt (2-12-1, 1-6-0 ACC) returns home for the final two matches of its home regular season schedule, welcoming 18th-ranked North Carolina Thursday evening
- The Panthers enter the contest after a 1-0 loss at Syracuse on Sunday afternoon
- Pitt's last home outing resulted in its first ACC win of the season as the Panthers knocked off Miami on a penalty kick in the second overtime, claiming a 1-0 win
SCOUTING NORTH CAROLINA
- Ranked 18th in the latest NSCAA Poll, the Tar Heels enter the weekend with a mark of 8-3-3, 3-2-2 ACC
- North Carolina is coming off of a 1-0 loss at Notre Dame Friday evening, snapping a five-game unbeaten streak in ACC play
- The Tar Heels rattled off a pair of draws with Clemson and Virginia before back-to-back wins over Miami and Wake Forest, prior to the loss to the Fighting Irish
- Bridgette Andrezejewski leads the Tar Heels' offense, registering six goals and one assist for 13 points, while teammate Annie Kingman has recorded four goals and four assists for 12 points
- Goalkeeper Lindsey Harris has earned the start in 13 of the team's 14 outings, leading the squad with a 0.84 GAA and a save percentage of .829
SERIES WITH NORTH CAROLINA
- This will be the third all-time meeting between the two programs in a series dating back to Pitt's inaugural season as a member of the ACC in 2013
- The Tar Heels hold the 2-0-0 all-time advantage over the Panthers, claiming wins in 2013 and 2014
