PITTSBURGH-
Hey Panther Fans!
Pitt Gymnastics is continuing to climb towards its goal of becoming champions. Day in and day out, the girls continue to demonstrate excellent leadership skills by working hard in the gym, weight room and classroom. With season right around the corner, we can’t wait to get back out on the competition floor and show everyone what we’ve been working so hard for.
Right before Thanksgiving we competed in our annual Gobble No Wobble intersquad! This held no surprises. What we practiced was exactly what we got. With the routines that were put up, we were able to go five for five on both bars and floor. In addition, we were able to welcome sophomore Kelly Burak back into the lineup with her beautiful performance on beam. Sophomore Tracey Pearson, another athlete we are excited to have this year, presented an amazing vault and powerhouse floor routine. With full performances under our belts and Thanksgiving in our bellies, we are refreshed and ready to take on our Blue-Gold exhibition against Kent State this weekend.
However, our team is not met without hardship. Due to injuries, we do not have the depth and numbers that we originally planned on having for this meet, but in the end nothing will slow down our momentum and our drive.
“Adversity causes some men to break; others to break records.” -William A. Ward
Collectively, we have decided to take on the challenge. We BELIEVE! We have chosen to remain in the present making the most of each day, of each practice, and of each turn. Now, there are girls who are choosing to step up and rise to the occasion. We will continue to build and climb to our goal of becoming champions because we can! Now is the time. We must first believe before we can succeed and we have chosen to take that first step.
Hope you will come out and support us on our journey this year! Hail to Pitt!
