POST-GAME NOTES
Pitt at Hawaii • War Memorial Gymnasium • November 21, 2014
Hawaii 74, Pitt 70
•Pitt played its first of four games in Maui, Hawaii and dropped a 74-70 road loss to Hawaii at the War Memorial Gymnasium in Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii.
•Next up, Pitt competes in three games over a three-day stretch as part of the EA Sports Maui Invitational from Nov. 24-26. Pitt opens EA Sports Maui Invitational play vs. Chaminade on Monday, Nov. 24. Tipoff is at 9 p.m. ET/4 p.m. Hawaii Time on ESPNU. Depending on the result, Pitt will play either San Diego State or BYU in the second game on Tuesday, Nov. 25. Time is TBA.
•Pitt allowed Hawaii to shoot 52.9 percent (27-51). The last time Pitt allowed an opponent to shoot over 50 percent was at Notre Dame (54.8 percent) on March 1, 2014.
•Pitt sophomore Chris Jones registered career-highs for points (19), field goals made and attempted (7-13), 3-point field goals made and attempted (5-8), assists (4), blocked shots (2) and minutes played. It marked his second career double figure scoring game.
•Sophomore Michael Young registered his second consecutive double figure scoring game with 13 points. Young has now reached double digit scoring in seven career games. Young surpassed career-highs for free throws made and attempted (7-8) and tied a career-high for steals with two. He has now started 39 consecutive games to start off his career.
•Junior James Robinson reached double figure scoring for the first time on year. His 12 points marked his 17th career double figure scoring game. Robinson scored nine of his 12 points in the second half.
•Freshman Ryan Luther saw his first collegiate game action in the game, logging nine minutes. Luther finished with four points and two rebounds.
•Pitt dropped to 1-3 all-time in games against the University of Hawaii. It has lost three straight games vs. UH, including two on the road, the last coming in 1990.
