Softball Falls 1-0 to DePaul on Sunday

CHICAGO, Ill.—The University of Pittsburgh softball team dropped a 1-0 decision to DePaul in its three-game series finale at Cacciatore Stadium on Sunday.
Freshman Savannah King (16-12) pitched the loss, giving up one unearned run and five hits in 4.1 innings of work. She collected two strikeouts in the contest and ranks fifth overall on the single-season list with 146 on the year.
Seniors Yvette Bravo and Kristen Cheesebrew and freshman Maggie Sevilla tallied hits in the game. Additionally, senior Kelly Hmiel led the Panthers with a .556 batting average in the weekend series.
Freshman Alexa Larkin tossed 1.2 scoreless innings in relief.
The Panthers (23-19, 6-8 Big East) resume action on Wednesday, April 18 with a Big East conference doubleheader against Syracuse at noon.
