Seton Hall Shuts Out Pitt, 3-0

PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh women's soccer team fell 3-0 to visiting Seton Hall on Sunday at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
Taylor Wilson, Katlyn Ritter and Caitlyn Milazzo all scored for the Pirates, who improved to 7-2-2 overall and 3-1-0 in the Big East.
Ritter scored the lone goal of the first half with an assist by Kristina Meier. Ritter was able to get behind the goalie and finished the play in a wide open net in the fifth minute.
The Pirates made it 2-0 on Wilson's goal in the 67th minute. Wilson's score was on a free kick from the left corner of the box that found its way just right of the left post and into the net.
Amie Ruhe had an assist on the final goal of the game, scored by Milazzo in the 78th minute. Ruhe is the sister of current Pitt player and the program's all-time assist leader, Katie Ruhe.
The teams were nearly even in shots with Seton Hall holding a 13-12 advantage. The Pirates also held a slight edge in corner kicks (5-4).
Elizabeth Bond recorded the shutout for Seton Hall, making three saves, Pitt goalie Kristina Rioux recorded five saves.
Pitt drops to 1-7-4 overall and 0-2-2 in the conference.
The Panthers will be on the road for a pair of Big East matches this weekend. They will play at Villanova on Friday at 4 p.m. and at Georgetown on Sunday at 1 p.m.
