Cuba Selected to Big East Honor Roll

PITTSBURGH –University of Pittsburgh forward Ashley Cuba was selected to the Big East Women’s Soccer Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced Monday.
The junior from Poland, Ohio earned the award after notching a hat-trick in a 6-1 win over visiting St. John’s on Sunday. Cuba’s first goal of the match tied her with Ashley Habbel (2006-09) for first on Pitt’s career goals list. She broke the record with her second goal and added the third late in the match to give her 21 for her career.
Cuba is sixth in the Big East in goals (8) and eighth in points (16). She leads the Panthers in both categories.
The win over the Red Storm was the first victory for the Panthers on Ambrose Urbanic Field, their new home field beginning this season.
Pitt has two away matches this weekend. The Panthers will play Connecticut on Friday at 7 p.m. and at Providence on Sunday at 1 p.m.
