Fallis Records 10 Digs in Season Opener

DAYTON, Ohio-Senior Brittany Fallis collected 10 digs in Pitt's 2010 season opener, as the women's volleyball team fell 3-0 in its season opener against No. 21 Dayton, this evening, at Frericks Center. The Panthers dropped the match with scores of 15-25, 13-25 and 10-25.
Fallis earned a start on defense and played in all three sets. She matched a game-high with seven assists in the second set. Last season, Fallis reached double-figure digs in two matches.
Additionally, senior Melanie Feldman and freshman Margy Acton added six digs, each. Acton earned the start as Pitt's libero.
Offensively, senior Alyssa King recorded nine assists in the match, while classmate Amy Town recorded six kills in the match.
In the first set, Town also chipped in two aces and three kills.
Later senior Allyson Hodnik would add two assists and an ace in the third set.
The Panthers return to action tomorrow, as they face Western Michigan at 3 p.m. and Ohio State at 7 p.m., at St. John's Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
