Pitt Gymnasts Compete At NCAA Regionals

PITTSBURGH - Four Pitt gymnasts took part in the NCAA Regional Saturday evening at the University Park region including Meaghan Biros, Dani Bryan, Jen Liberato and Alicia Talucci.
Talucci (Coatesville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) finished sixth in the all-around competition with a 9.750 on the vault for a 26th place finish, 9.525 on the uneven bars for 33rd, 9.700 on the balance beam for a 25th placing and 9.725 on the floor exercise to finish 24th. Talucci completed her sophomore season with a 38.700 total score.
Biros (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) was Pitt's other all-around competitor. Biros took 11th in the all-around with a 38.025, scoring a 9.800 for 19th on the vault, a 9.500 on the uneven bars to finish 35th, a 9.625 on the beam to finish 33rd and 9.100 on the floor for 39th.
Bryan (Germantown, Md./Northwest) competed on the vault in the individual competition, scoring a 9.775 on the night to finish 24th.
Liberato (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) represented the Panthers on the uneven bars as the junior scored a 9.600 in her first NCAA competition, to finish 27th among all competitors.
The Panthers finished the 2010 season as a team with a 5th place finish at the East Atlantic Gymnastics Championships.
