BLUE-GOLD INTRASQUAD MEET SPARKS 2011 GYMNASTICS SEASON

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Pittsburgh Panthers kicked off their 2010-11 season with the annual Blue-Gold Intrasquad meet at the Fitzgerald Field House.
The meet was the first time the team was able to compete in front of a crowd and compete in a live environment on the year. It also marked the first time that all five freshmen were able to compete as Pittsburgh Panthers.
“We saw what we expected to see tonight,” head coach Debbie Yohman said. “We know what we have to work on for the rest of the season.”
Yohman remarked that there were “little disappointments in some areas, but sheer excitement in others – we have some things to work on. Overall, it’s going to be a good season for Pitt gymnastics.”
Pitt begins its regular season Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. against Ball State. The meet will be held at the Fitzgerald Field House.
