PITTSBURGH—Pitt women's soccer defender Abby Baldys was named to the Big East Weekly Honor Roll, the conference office announced Monday.
The sophomore was recognized for her solid defensive play in the Panthers' two contests this past week.
In two games, Baldys played all 180 minutes and added an assist on Sunday in the Panthers 3-0 win over Villanova.
"Abby played fantastic in both games," Pitt Head Coach Sue-Moy Chin said. "She had a great assist and has been a mainstay in the backfield all season long."
Baldys has started all 17 games this season. She has three assists and contributed on the Panthers' four shutout victories.
"She has been solid all year," Chin added. "She's doing a fantastic job and she has always been a reliable player."
The honor marks the second award the Panthers have received this year. Sophomore forward Ashley Cuba was named to the honor roll list for her performance in the first week of play in which she scored three goals - all coming in the Panthers' season opening victory over Buffalo.
