Talucci Tabbed EAGL Rookie of the Year

PITTSBURGH -- Five University of Pittsburgh gymnasts were honored by the Eastern Gymnastics League, receiving first and second team selections. Freshman Alicia Talucci was named EAGL Rookie of the Year.
Earning All-EAGL First Team honors were co-captains Alix Croop and Dani Bryan and Talucci. Croop earned first team honors on both the uneven bars and balance beam while Talucci was tabbed for the beam and all-around teams. Bryan, nationally ranked on the vault, earned her second, first-team selection in the event.
All-EAGL Second Team selections on vault were sophomore Shannon Vafiadou and Talucci. Vafiadou was an All-EAGL Second Team pick last year for the all-around before earning second team honors on the vault. Varela, a true freshman earned second team honors on the bars while Croop and Bryan were second team selections on the floor.
The Panthers will be in action at the EAGL Championships, hosted by NC State University Saturday, March 21 at 3 p.m.
