PITTSBURGH (AP) -Shayla Scott converted a three-point play and made two free throws during a decisive 14-0 run during the second half and No. 19 Pittsburgh overcame some sub-par shooting to beat Cincinnati 68-53 on Saturday.
Shavonte Zellous and Xenia Stewart scored 16 points each for the Panthers (20-5, 10-3 in Big East), who assured themselves of a fourth consecutive 20-win season.
Zellous made only 6 of 22 shots while being held seven points below her 23.0 average, but also had six rebounds and five assists. The Panthers withstood their 36.9 percent shooting (24 of 65) by holding a 43-26 advantage in rebounding.
Pitt led 41-40 following Kahla Roudebush's layup for Cincinnati (13-13, 3-10) with 14:10 remaining before outscoring the Bearcats 22-3 over the next nine minutes, a stretch that included the 14-0 run.
Jill Stephens scored 17 points for Cincinnati.
