Over their spring break, the team got the opportunity to take a visit to Richland Elementary to meet and spend time with their pen pals, while enjoying some lemonade and cookies in the school's cafeteria. The Panthers also read stories to the youngsters and then took a tour of the school, including the gymnasium where an Arts and Crafts Show was located. After viewing the art work of the students from grades one through six, the first graders were anxious to show the team their desks and numerous class projects. "Who knew first graders were so busy in the classroom?" asked coach Yohman with a bit of excitement in her voice. "The girls were all terrific with the youngsters," continued Yohman. "And the kids were excited to see us and show off their schoolwork. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon; thank you to Damon Duncan, student teacher, and Jen Kopach, first grade teacher, who invited us in to their classroom!"
