Women's Volleyball Defeats Wake Forest

OXFORD, Ohio--Senior Diana Andreyko and junior Kelly Campbell record double-doubles, as Pitt's women's volleyball team defeated Wake Forest, 3-2, in its first game of the Miami Best Western Invitational, held in Millett Hall.
Campbell (Mansfield, Ohio/Mansfield/Pacific) led the team with 19 kills and 15 digs for her first double-double of the season. Andreyko (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) recorded her second double-double of the season with 18 kills and 11 digs.
Sophomore Meagan Dooley (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) chipped in 13 kills, while junior Jessica Moses (North Olmstead, Ohio/Lutheran West) led the squad with a .353 attack percentage.
Pitt (1-3) won the first two games (31-29, 30-20) before dropping the next two. In the tiebreaker, there were six ties and three lead changes before the Panthers could earn the win. In that contest, Wake Forest (0-1) jumped out with the early 3-1 lead. However, a kill from Campbell that was set up by freshman setter Emily Burke (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) tied the game at 8-8 and forced a Demon deacon timeout.
Sophomore Melissa Stadelman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Carrick) gave Pitt the final lead of the game with an 11-10 kill. Stadelman recorded the final kill of the game after Pitt took a 14-12 timeout.
Burke led the offensive attack with 60 assists, adding four digs in her fifth start of the season.
In game two Pitt recorded a game-high .481 hitting clip, while Campbell led the team with five kills and six digs.
