FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.--Pitt's women's volleyball team opened it's 2007 season in the Arkansas Clarion Inn Invitational, dropping a 3-1 match to Georgia Tech this afternoon at Barnhill Arena. The Yellow Jackets took the win with scores of 30-28, 26-30, 30-24 and 30-27.

Junior Kelly Campbell (Mansfield, Ohio/Pacific) led the squad with 14 kills, adding seven digs and a block. Sophomore Meagan Dooley (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) and junior Stephanie Ross (Dayton, Ohio/Chaminade-Julienne) chipped in 13 and 12 kills, respectively.
In game two, the Panthers trailed early but a kill from Campbell gave the squad a lead for good (7-6) that led to the eventual four-point win (30-24). Playing in her first match as a Panther, freshman Emily Burke (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) recorded the assist on that play and boasted a game-high 52 in the match.
Pitt faces Pepperdine at 6 p.m. this evening and are 1-2 in the series against the Waves. Live stats are available at www.ladybacks.com.
