Nine Panthers Named to EAGL All-Academic Team

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Pitt gymnastics has a reputation of having top-notch gymnasts in competition in addition to the classroom. With nine Panthers named to the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) All-Academic team, Pitt is showing progress in its quest for academic and athletic excellence.
First-time honorees include sophomore Kaitlin Harrison (Manchester, N.H./Manchester Memorial), junior Andrea Arlotta (Cincinnati, Ohio/Northwest) and senior April Pearson (Jacksonville, Fla./Wolfson). Harrison is focused on rehabilitation science while Arlotta is majoring in English writing and Pearson in applied developmental psychology.
Two-time honorees include sophomore Melissa Davidson (New Brighton, Pa./Rochester), sophomore Samantha DeBone (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield), sophomore Nicole Drane (Mt. Laurel, N.J./Lenape), junior Jessica Garber (Manheim, Pa./Lancaster Country Day School) and senior Lindsay Swan (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip). Davidson is interested in pre-medicine, DeBone in rehabilitation sciences and Drane in pre-education. Garber is a Communications major in the College of Arts and Sciences, and Swan is an applied developmental psychology major.
Pitt's only three-time honoree is junior Robyn Marszalek (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg). With a 3.86 GPA, Marszalek is interested in pre-medicine and anthropology. She is on her way to becoming the tenth Panther to earn honors for four straight seasons.
In addition to Marszalek, other Panthers registering a GPA above a 3.5 include Davidson with a 3.85 and Swan with a 3.92.
