Softball Falls To Virginia Tech

CONWAY, S.C.--The University of Pittsburgh softball team dropped its first game of the Myrtle Beach Chevy Chanticleer Classic, this afternoon, after a two, two-run innings lifted Virginia Tech to a 4-0 win over the Panthers. Pitt slips to 1-5 on the season, while the Hokies improve to 6-0.
Scoring started in the fourth inning as Charisse Mariconda recorded an RBI off a single and then a sacrifice fly from Kelsey Hoffman gave Virginia Tech a 2-0 lead. Later in the sixth, the Hokies added two more runs off errors in the infield.
