*Three players made their first career start for Pitt: freshman Levance Fields, junior Aaron Gray and senior John DeGroat.

*Freshman Levance Fields became the third freshman at Pitt to start on opening day since 1997. Ronald Ramon (2004-05) and Ricardo Greer (1997-98) were the other two players. Fields finished with 12 points and five assists in 26 minutes.

*Aaron Gray registered his first career double-double. He finished with a career-highs in points (17) and rebounds (11), field goal attempts (15) free throws made (seven) and free throw attempts (10) and minutes (28).
