Pitt vs. Robert Morris
November 23, 2005
Quoting Pitt Head Coach Jamie Dixon
Opening statement.
"I thought we played hard. There were a lot of good things that happened tonight. (Robert Morris) had some good things go their way too. (RMU) ran some great plays and got a lot out of their big men. I thought three of our freshmen played well. (Ronald) Ramon played good. We had some careless turnovers but we did make some adjustments in the second half."
On Sam Young...
"Sam is playing well. He is playing the four, which is the hardest position in our offense because you have to pass, rebound, move without the ball and score. He works hard. The dunks are nice."
On Carl playing off the ball...
"Carl is a point guard that is playing off the ball. I will keep two point guards on the floor most of this season. Carl played defense well. He does a lot in the games by grabbing rebounds, making great passes, scores and goes after loose balls."
Quoting Pitt's Carl Krauser
On taking shots early in the game...
"I felt like I needed to be a leader so I wanted to make some shots to give my team some energy."
On playing alongside Sam Young...
"I haven't played with anyone as athletic as Sam (Young) before. There have been athletic players like (Julius) Page and Jaron (Brown) but Sam is a different type of player. He is something like a Vince Carter. He runs the floor well and moves his body in ways that are explosive."
On playing off the ball...
"It takes a lot of pressure off of me with (Ronald) Ramon and (LeVance) Fields in the game. I can run off screens and be a leader on the court without the ball all the time."
Quoting Pitt's Sam Young
On his alley-oop dunk...
"It came from good defense on the play before. I wanted to give the team some energy."
Quoting Pitt's Tyrell Biggs
On going after loose balls...
"The transition to college is when I started doing that. I knew I was going to have to get down and dirty going after loose balls."
On earning more playing time...
"I needed to be tough, play defense and be physical."
Quoting Robert Morris Head Coach Mark Schmidt
On the game...
"I thought our guys gave a great effort. I thought we gave Pitt a good run when we were down 41-40. The last 16 minutes we just got worn down. I was really proud of our effort. You know, Pitt's a great team and has good size and that hurt us."
Quoting Robert Morris' Tony Lee
On being injured...
"My knee was hurting a little bit but I just had to play through the pain. I iced it at halftime and I iced at when I came to the bench. Other than that it was fine.
Quoting Robert Morris' A.J. Jackson

On missing shots early...
"Coach told me to let the game come to me. When I first got out there I was forcing some shots. Finally I got into a groove. I just let the game come to me."
Quoting Robert Morris' Derek Coleman
On stopping Pitt...
"When they went on that run it just seemed like we couldn't answer it. It was hard to answer their run. When you play a good team like that and can't answer the run, it's going to be hard to get back in the game. We couldn't answer that run and get that stop on defense."
