Nine Gymnasts Make All-Academic Team

PITTSBURGH - Nine Pittsburgh gymnasts were named to the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) All-Academic Team.
Panther sophomore Lisa Fronhofer (Salem, N.Y./Salem) led Pittsburgh's honorees with a perfect 4.0 grade- point average. She was joined by fellow sophomores Pam Lieberman (Parkland, Fla./Stoneman Douglass) and Vanessa Rutherford (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury).
Also named to the All-Academic team were juniors Sara- Claire Campesino (Delta, Ohio/Swanton), Erika Flamer (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) and Janet Highhill (Grand Haven, Mich./Grand Haven), and seniors Calli Bodnar (Graytown, Ohio/Oak Harbor) and Joy McElhinny (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway).
In addition, Becky Doll (Elmhurst, Ill./York) was the lone Panther freshman to make the squad.
The Panthers were idle this week. They return to action when they compete in the NCAA Regional Championships Saturday, April 4 at Fitzgerald Field House.
The Regional Championships will begin at 6 p.m. and tickets can be purchased through the University of Pittsburgh Ticket Office for $8 for reserved seating and $5 for general admission.
