PITTSBURGH – Amy Read of women’s diving and Felix Wolter of men’s track & field were named the Pitt Student-Athletes of the Week following impressive performances in their respective sports.
At the NCAA Zone A Championships, Read made school history as the first Pitt diver to qualify for the NCAA Championships in all four years of her collegiate career. Read's third place finish (542.75) on platform, in addition to her seventh (555.00) 10th place (574.40) finishes on the 1-meter and 3-meter respectively qualified the Leeds, England native on all three boards for the second consecutive year. The senior is the only female diver for the Panthers to qualify on all three boards and is one of only four Panthers in program history to earn the feat. Read will be the sole competitor representing Pitt at the Women's NCAA Championships this week in Atlanta, Ga.
For the second consecutive indoor season, Wolter earned All-American honors for the Panthers in the heptathlon as he collected the 12th place finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Ala. Wolter posted a score of 5,768 to earn Second Team All-American honors after winning his second straight ACC crown in the heptathlon with the fifth best score in the NCAA in the event. On the weekend, Wolter posted two season-best marks, 60m and shot put, while becoming the first Pitt heptathlete in program history to earn All-American honors twice. He is also the first 2x indoor All-American for Pitt since 2014 (Brycen Spratling, Carvin Nkanata).
