In her first year of competition, Melissa Davidson competed in three meets on the vault late in the season...Improved her score every meet and set a career-high 9.400 at the EAGL Championships...Named to the EAGL All-Academic Team for the second time.
AS A FRESHMAN (2005)
Davidson was unable to compete as a freshman because of a stress fracture in her shin...named to the EAGL All-Academic Team and was an NACGC/W scholar-athlete.
HIGH SCHOOL
Davidson competed for Arcadia Gymnastics and Rochester High School...placed third on the uneven bars at the 2004 WPIAL Championships and placed fourth at the state championships...coached by Monica O[apos]Connor and Dave Greggs at Arcadia, where she competed for seven years...a Level 9 regional qualifier, she placed sixth in the all-around, fifth on beam and seventh on floor at the state championships...also a four-year letterwinner for the Rochester track and field team...won league and state titles as part of the 4x100 relay team...valedictorian of Rochester[apos]s senior class, Melissa was an accomplished student and was honored at the Beaver County YMCA Scholar-Athlete and Hall of Fame banquets.
