Brianne O’Rourke was promoted to director of operations in September 2016 after serving as the Panthers’ video coordinator for the 2015-16 season.
Prior to Pitt, O’Rourke spent six years playing professional basketball overseas. She played her first four years in Germany (2009-13), followed with one season in Slovakia (2014) and finished in Italy (2015).
Her overseas accolades include being named to the German Bundesliga All-Import Team from 2009-12, and winning the Italian A2 League title in the spring of 2015.
O’Rourke was a four year letterwinner at Penn State University from 2005-10. She earned Big Ten Conference honors in each year of her career, including being named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2006. During her senior season she became the sixth player in school history to record 1,000 points and 500 assists in a career.
A Pittsburgh native, O’Rourke played high school basketball for Suzie McConnell-Serio at Oakland Catholic. She led the Eagles to a 31-2 record in her senior year, including section, district and state championships. She earned a spot on the Associated Press Pennsylvania All-State first team in 2005 and was a three-time all-section honoree. Additional accolades include Street & Smith All-America honorable mentions, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Fabulous Five, Pittsburgh Tribune Terrific 10, Western Pennsylvania Girls Basketball Hall of Fame Freshman Player of the Year, Coca-Cola Freshman Player of the Year and PNC?Bank District 7 Freshman Player of the Year.
