Gina Fuchs enters her 14th season as a member of the Pitt softball coaching staff and 10th under head coach Holly Aprile. Fuchs oversees the development of the outfield, in addition to handling base running and slap-hitting fundamentals. She also assists with recruiting and scouting.

- 2015 NFCA Mid-Atlantic Region Coaching Staff of the Year

- Aided in the development of freshman Hannah Edwards, who finished the season with a .274 batting average and 11 stolen bases, which tied for first on the team.
- Led junior Erin Hershman to an error-free season in the outfield, as well 11 stolen bases.
- Collectively, the team was 34-41 in stolen base attempts, good for a .829 percentage swiping bags.
- Helped develop a stifling Panther defense that led the ACC in fielding percentage (.975) and finished second in assists (495). With a .975 fielding percentage, Pitt finished 16th in the NCAA in that category.
- Coached Pitt to a 31-21 overall record, marking the second consecutive season where the Panthers have won 30-plus games.
- Led Pitt to its second ACC Tournament appearance in back-to-back years.
- Helped three Panthers to National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Mid-Atlantic All-Region honors in redshirt senior Maggie Sevilla (second team) and sophomores Giorgiana Zeremenko (second team) and McKayla Taylor (third team).
- Coached sophomore Erin Hershman to All-ACC First Team honors, while senior Jenna Modic and redshirt senior Maggie Sevilla were selected to the second team.
- Freshman Olivia Gray, sophomore Erin Hershman and redshirt senior Maggie Sevilla earned All-ACC Academic honors.
- Led Pitt to its first NCAA Tournament bid in program history where the team advanced to the Regional Final after defeating California and Oakland.
- Coached Pitt to its first ACC Tournament appearance, where the Panthers were runner-ups to Florida State after defeating higher seeds Notre Dame and North Carolina in their opening games.
- Finished with a 37-22 record, the winningest season in program history.
- Coaching staff was named as the 2015 NFCA Mid-Atlantic Region Coaching Staff of the Year.
- Coached Carly Thea to a .409 on base percentage and 39 RBIs.
- Helped slap-hitter Jordan Fannin to 21 RBIs after only 10 in 2014.
- Helped lead Pitt to its first ACC victories over Virginia in a series sweep against the Cavaliers.
- Carly Thea and Tori Nirschl were named to the All-ACC conference team.
- Carly Thea was named to the NFCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region second team, which marked the first all-region selection in Pitt Softball history.
- Aided Carly Thea to a team-high slugging percentage (.636), good for 10th in the ACC.
- Helped Carissa Throckmorton tally 30 hits with a .377 slugging percentage.
- Jordan Fannin committed no errors in 41 chances from right field.
- Helped the panthers improve their highest individual stolen base percentage from 70% (2012; Kelly Hmiel 11-16) to 86% (Carly Thea, 6-7) in 2013.
- Saw Tori Nirschl become Pitt’s first Big East Rookie of the Year in 2013.
- Coached Pitt to a third-place finish in the Big East with 79 steals in 2011.
- Helped the Panthers set a school record in 2011 with 236 runs scored, eclipsing the 2006 record.
- Played a pivotal role in Ashley Amistade increasing her batting average from .250 in 2009 to .320 in 2010.
- Saw Reba Tutt shatter Pitt’s freshman record in steals with 26 in 2008.
- Posted a successful career at Penn State from 1999-2003, where she was a four-year letterwinner and a two-time team captain (2002, 2003).
- Earned First Team All-Big Ten honors in 2000 and 2002.
- Concluded her career with records in stolen bases (123), hits (238), runs scored (149) and games played (213).
- Set single-season records in at-bats (197), singles (63) and stolen bases (42).
- Three-time academic All-Big Ten recipient (2000, 2002, 2003).
- Graduated from Penn State in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, focusing on Exercise Science.
- A native of Pottstown, Pa., Fuchs currently resides in Pittsburgh with her husband Dan and son Jacob.

- The area surrounding the Cathedral of Learning - I love all the pretty flowers that bloom in that area and around the Student Union.
- Favorite sports moment at Pitt?
- Football beating Penn State during the 2016-17 season.
- What is your favorite thing to do in the city of Pittsburgh?
- Going to Pirates games.
- Hobbies outside of work?
- I love spending time with my family, going on walks, going to the park - anything outside! I also love to garden.
