Amanda Buchholz was named the assistant coach of the University of Pittsburgh softball program in August of 2017.

2018
- Named assistant coach of the University of Pittsburgh softball program August 15, 2017.
- Aided in coaching the program to its first ACC Coastal Division Championship.
- Worked primarily with Pitt’s defense, which led the ACC in double plays (34), ranked second highest in fielding percentage in the conference (.970) and third in assists (509). The Panthers also finished third in the NCAA in double plays per game (.65) and fourth in the NCAA in double plays turned.
- Guided shortstop Olivia Gray to All-ACC First Team honors.
- Coached third baseman McKayla Taylor to ACC All-Tournament Team honors.
- Guided junior Olivia Gray to the third best single-season assist total in program history (173).
- Helped senior McKayla Taylor to finish her career with the most assists in program history (597).

- Coached Ohio State defense to a .969 fielding percentage in the 2017 season.
