James Thomas enters his third year as an assistant director of broadcast and video production for Pitt football.
Thomas joins the Panthers following a stint with Georgia Tech (2022-23), where he worked as a visual content producer for the Yellow Jackets’ football program. He had a focus on in-game presentation, producing video content for the boards at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
During his time in Atlanta, he also served as a social media content creative and video editor for the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl.
Prior to Georgia Tech, he was a video production and creative content graduate assistant working with each of the 18 intercollegiate athletics programs at Mercer University (2021).
His Pitt appointment marks a return home for Thomas, who graduated from nearby Sto-Rox High School.
Thomas matriculated to Bethany College, where he was a member of the football program and earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and media arts.
While an undergraduate at Bethany, he interned with Pittsburgh’s historic WAMO Radio.
