HIGH SCHOOL: An all-conference wide receiver at Union under Coach Lou Grasso…despite an injury-shortened senior season, averaged 17.2 yards per catch, totaling 23 receptions for 396 yards and five touchdowns…spent his initial three years at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High, where he earned all-division honors as a junior after catching 73 passes for 941 yards and five touchdowns…selected to play in the Phil Simms North-South Football Classic…also a track letterman.
PERSONAL: Isaiah Sobrino-Stewart, born 1/2/00, is the son of Tony and Dee Stewart…has two sisters and one brother…father played football at Iowa, where he was a standout running back and senior captain…Tony Stewart was selected in the 11th round of the 1991 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks and went on to play four seasons in the Canadian Football League (Calgary Stampeders and Hamilton Tiger-Cats)…communication major.
