PITTSBURGH – Pitt linebacker Kyle Louis was named to the Lombardi Award Midseason Watch List, it was announced today by the Lombardi Award Committee.
The award, presented by the Rotary Club of Houston, recognizes the lineman or linebacker who demonstrates excellence in performance, leadership, character, and resilience—qualities synonymous with Vince Lombardi's legacy.
Louis was named to the Lombardi Award's Preseason Watchlist in August.
In six games this season, the redshirt junior has tallied 42 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and an interception for the Panthers.
Louis became Pitt's 100th first team All-American in program history last year, tallying 101 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks and four interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown.
The Panthers travel to Syracuse, NY this weekend for a primetime matchup against the Orange on the ACC Network at 7:30 PM.
