2017: Placed sixth at the Duquesne Duals with a time of 26:45.6 in the 5K (Sept. 2) for his individual best finish … Placed 16th at UB Stampede XC Invite with a time of 26:25.9 in the 8K (Sept. 15) … Also competed in the D1 Pre Nationals as well as the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational.

2016: Did not compete.

HIGH SCHOOL: Burroughs was team captain and MVP for cross country and team captain and Distance team MVP for track. A 3A state qualifier in XC as a team and 2A track state qualifier in the 3200 both indoor and outdoors. All-Regional and All-Sectional in cross country, All-Sectional in track (3200m). CCL All-Conference in both cross country and indoor track (4x800 champions). The Kane County Chronicle Runner of the Year, KCC All-Area First Team for cross country and All-Area honorable mention for track. Daily Herald Prep Sports Excellence Award Recipient and won the Kane County Meet in the 3200m his senior and junior year. His junior year was a 3A State Finalist in cross country and a 3A State qualifier in track as an individual. Was a Kane County Chronicle for both track and cross country. SCC All-Conference in track (1600 and 4x400m Relay Champion) and also in cross country. Distance team MVP and All-Sectional in track in the 3200m. His sophomore year he was an SCC All-Conference runner in cross country and the Team Spirit Award Winner for cross country freshman year. Varsity letter all four years in track and three years in cross country. Also played basketball freshman year.

PERSONAL: Born Oct. 8, 1997. Son of David and Dolores Burroughs. Has two older brothers; Benjamin and Joseph, the latter graduating from Pitt in 2014. Burroughs enjoys traveling, having been to 33 states and 10 different countries. He has volunteered for Pro-Life organizations and Crayons for Kids. Enrolled in the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences. Intended major is Health Information Management.
