Ramon “Kiké” Negrón joined the University of Pittsburgh in July 2023 in the role of Director of Equipment Services and manages the swimming & diving, baseball and softball programs’ day-to-day needs.
Prior to his arrival at Pitt, Negrón was the Assistant Director for Internal Operations at the University of Evansville and oversaw everything related to equipment services for all 15 teams as well as provided oversight for all university athletic facilities.
Before his transition into collegiate sports, Negrón worked in the Puerto Rico Olympic Committee participating in Center American, Pan American and Olympic Games as a Mission Coordinator including:
- XXII Center American and Caribbean Games, Veracruz, Mexico 2014
- XVII Pan American Games, Toronto, Canada 2015
- XXXI Olympic Games, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 2016
- XXIII Center American and Caribbean Games, Barranquilla, Colombia 2018
- XVIII Pan American Games, Lima, Peru 2019
Negrón was A 2007 soccer student athlete for and graduate of Radford University with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise, Sports and Health Education. Negrón later obtained his master’s degree in Sports Studies from High Point University in 2009. Negrón is a certified member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA).
A native from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, Negrón currently resides with his wife, Viviana, his son Sergio and daughter Amelia in Pittsburgh.
