PITTSBURGH—Former cornerback Tamon Lynum has signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent after participating in the team's rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.
Lynum, who spent the 2024 and 2025 seasons with the Panthers, will remain in Pittsburgh after concluding his collegiate career at Pitt. The Orlando, Fla., native appeared in 16 games for the Blue and Gold, collecting 33 tackles, three passes defended and an interception.
Following rookie minicamp, Lynum spoke about the familiarity of remaining in the same facility complex shared by Pitt Football and the Steelers.
"I feel comfortable," Lynum told local reporters. "I feel the same. It's just on the other side of the building now. So that's all, but I feel very comfortable being back here. This is like my second home."
Lynum joined Pitt prior to the 2024 season after beginning his collegiate career at Nebraska. He became a veteran presence in the Panthers' secondary and now takes the next step in his football journey with the Steelers.
