LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Pittsburgh men's and women's track & field programs closed the 2026 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at Louisville, rewriting one of the program's longest-standing relay records, claiming two podium finishes and adding points across the track and field events. The Panther men finished ninth in the team standings with 33 points, while the women tied for 14th with 26.
The day's signature performance came from the women's 400 relay. The quartet of Maliah Edwards, Somiyah Braggs, Alma Evuna Eki and Faith Dennis crossed the line in 44.09 to place sixth — and in doing so erased a school record that had stood for 15 years, eclipsing the previous mark of 44.24 set in 2011.
Senior Eva Baldursdottir provided the program's highest individual finish of the meet, clearing 5-10.75 (1.80m) to repeat as ACC runner-up in the women's high jump for the second consecutive season. Classmate Alesia Rengle added a season-best clearance of 5-8.5 (1.74m) to place seventh.
The men's 1600 relay continued the day's relay theme with a runner-up finish of its own. Cole Strother, Malachi Williams, Darren McQueen Jr. and Colin Kravitz combined to clock 3:07.03, a time that now ranks No. 9 on Pitt's all-time outdoor list. The men's 400 relay unit of McQueen Jr., Che Nwabuko, Jaden Shelton and Williams was also in the mix, taking fifth in 39.67, tied for the second-fastest time in program history. The women's 1600 relay of Alexandria Scott, Eki, Jana Bruses and Dennis closed the meet in 3:39.61 for eighth.
Scott followed her Day 1 PR with another in the women's 400 hurdles final, slicing her lifetime best to 57.53 to take fourth, a mark that now sits No. 4 in program history. Bruses placed eighth in 59.01. On the men's side, Josue Richardson Salazar finished seventh in the 400 hurdles in 51.73 to score two points for the Panthers.
The sprints and hurdles continued to deliver across the afternoon. McQueen Jr. took fifth in the men's 100 in 10.24, his fastest wind-legal time since last year's ACC Championships, and Braggs placed seventh in the women's 100 in 11.49. Shelton added two points with a seventh-place finish in the men's 110 hurdles in 13.85.
In the field, Uri Arnon scored two points in the men's triple jump with a leap of 51-5.5 (15.68m) — just three centimeters shy of his personal best — to take seventh. Luke Simpson placed 10th in the men's 1500 final in 3:43.76. Emeka Ugwu rounded out his weekend with a mark of 152-4 (46.44m) for 17th in the men's discus, while Niya Crawford (140-5/42.81m) and Jaydon Isham (140-0/42.68m) placed 15th and 16th, respectively, in the women's discus.
