Pitt Drops Series Finale at Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Pitt dropped the series finale, 14-0, to Louisville Sunday afternoon at Ulmer Stadium.
The Panthers were limited to two hits on the day, with singles from KK Esparza and Tieley Vaughn. Louisville finished with 14 runs on 11 hits, earning its sixth consecutive win.
The Cardinals jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first, using a single, a double, and a Pitt error to take control early. Both teams went down in order in the second inning.
Louisville broke the game open in the third with a nine-run frame. Camryn Lookadoo delivered an RBI double, and Madison Pickens followed with a two-run single. The Cardinals added two more runs on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch and a bases-loaded walk before Bri Despines capped the inning with a grand slam to extend the lead to 13-0.
Louisville added one more run in the bottom of the fourth on a single to make it 14-0.
Pitt returns to action Tuesday for a midweek matchup at Robert Morris, with first pitch set for 4 p.m.
