PITTSBURGH—From Aliquippa to "Revis Island," Pitt Football legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Darrelle Revis will be inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame as part of its Class of 2026.
The 63rd Annual Induction Banquet is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026 at Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia, Pa., celebrating athletes, coaches and leaders who have made a lasting impact on sports across the Commonwealth.
A Western Pennsylvania standout, Revis first made his mark at Aliquippa High School, where he was one of the state's most versatile and dominant athletes. As a senior, he led the Quips to a 14-1 record and the PIAA Class AA state championship, earning Associated Press Class AA Player of the Year honors. In the state title game, Revis scored five touchdowns, tying a PIAA record, including an 89-yard punt return and a 69-yard blocked field goal return in a dramatic victory.
He carried that playmaking ability to Pitt, where he earned Freshman All-America honors in 2004 while helping the Panthers to a Big East championship and Fiesta Bowl berth. A two-time first-team All-Big East cornerback, Revis also excelled as a return specialist and delivered one of the most memorable plays in program history, a 73-yard punt return touchdown against West Virginia that was named the 2006 "College Football Play of the Year" by ESPN.
Selected in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the New York Jets, Revis went on to an 11-year professional career that included seven Pro Bowl selections and four first-team All-Pro honors. In 2023, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest cornerbacks in football history.
Revis headlines a distinguished Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026 that spans multiple sports and generations.
