Panthers Fall to NC State in Season Finale

PITTSBURGH – Pitt closed out the 2025-26 regular season Sunday afternoon with a 93-43 setback to NC State at the Petersen Events Center.
NC State seized control early and never relinquished it, opening the game on a 12-2 run and building a 25-10 lead after the first quarter. The Wolfpack continued to apply pressure in the second, using a 20-4 scoring surge to take a 50-18 advantage into halftime.
Pitt was unable to recover from the early deficit, as NC State shot 50 percent (35-of-70) from the field and 52.6 percent (10-of-19) from three-point range. The Wolfpack also capitalized on Panther miscues, converting 21 turnovers into 24 points and adding 22 fast-break points.
Freshman Theresa Hagans Jr. paced Pitt with nine points, while Audrey Biggs also finished with a season-high nine points, knocking down four free throws. Jayda Queeley added tied her career-high in scoring with eight points and pulled down a career-high five rebounds, and Fatima Diakhate pulled down a team-high 13 rebounds to go along with six points.
Pitt shot 28.3 percent (17-of-60) from the field and 21.4 percent (3-of-14) from beyond the arc. The Panthers found more rhythm in the fourth quarter, scoring 15 points.
NC State placed five players in double figures, led by Zoe Brooks with 20 points. Khamil Pierre added 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Zamareya Jones chipped in 13 points. Qadence Samuels rounded out the balanced scoring effort with 11points to go along with six rebounds.
