THE OPENING TIP
-
Pitt and Wake Forest will meet for the 18th time Tuesday evening as the two programs square off inside Petersen Events Center. The game is set for an early 6:00 p.m. tip and will be televised on ACC Network.
-
Anish Shroff will be on play-by-play with Terrence Oglesby serving as the analyst on ACC Network.
-
The game will also be broadcast on the Panthers Radio Network (flagship 93.7 The Fan) with Bill Hillgrove (play-by-play) and Curtis Aiken (analysis) providing the commentary.
-
Tuesday's game will be Pitt's 3,000th in program history. Pitt becomes the 41st program in NCAA history to reach 3,000 games all-time. The Pitt program began with an 11-game schedule in 1905-06. After going dormant from 1908-1910, Pitt has played every year since the 1910-11 season.
-
Pitt enters Tuesday's game at 1-6 in the ACC and on a season-long three-game losing streak, dropping each of the last two games late. A week ago, Pitt lost at Boston College, 65-62, and the Panthers lost Saturday at home against NC State, 81-72.
-
Wake Forest is one game ahead of Pitt in the ACC standings at 2-5 and the Demon Deacons have lost two straight against SMU (91-79) and most recently to Duke (90-69).
-
Pitt outrebounded NC State 52-31 in its most recent game, grabbing a season-high 26 offensive rebounds. Wake Forest, on the flip side, ranks last in the ACC in rebound margin in conference games and has been outrebounded by an average of 11.1 boards per game.
