Panthers Continue ACC Competition at No. 13 North Carolina

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt Gymnastics team (0-2, 0-1 ACC) will continue ACC competition at No. 13 North Carolina (2-2, 0-1 ACC) on Friday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. at Carmichael Arena. A Beam Routine to Remember
- Freshman Mali Morgan made her collegiate debut on beam against Cal on Sunday, earning an impressive 9.825.
- The performance was a team best and tied for second-highest in the meet.
Title Winner Again
- Meika Lee won the floor title once again with a 9.850 against Cal on Sunday.
- This marks her second straight title on the event this season.
Cam Can
- Camryn Chiu had an impressive opening weekend against Texas Woman's University.
- She recorded a career-high 9.850 on beam for a share of the event title and tied her personal best with a 9.850 on bars.
Floor Queen
- Meika Lee came out of the gates hot in her sophomore campaign, recording a 9.900 on floor against Texas Woman's University.
- She is currently tied for 34th in the nation on the event.
Seniors Leading the Way
- Hallie Copperwheat, Jaime Pratt, Kennedy Duke and Reyna Garvey are set to lead the 2026 Panther squad as seniors.
- Copperwheat, Duke and Garvey have competed in every season of their Panther careers, while Pratt is in her second year with the program after transferring from Arkansas.
Last Time Out
- Multiple Panthers recorded or tied career highs at the 2025 ACC Championship.
- Emily Todd tied her career high with a 9.900 on bars while Julie Røttum Madsø notched a 9.850.
Copperwheat Comes Back
- Redshirt senior Hallie Copperwheat is back and better for 2026 after redshirting the 2025 campaign.
- She is a two-time NCAA Regional Qualifier, both as an All-Around athlete in 2023 and on bars and beam in 2022.
- Copperwheat was an All-EAGL performer in all-around, bars, beam, vault and floor in 2022 and 2023.
Panthers To Watch!
- Three Panthers were recognized by the ACC heading into the season.
- Jaime Pratt and Hallie Copperwheat were tabbed to the Preseason Watch List, and freshman Layla Bobek was selected to the Newcomer List.
Farewell to the Field House
- 2026 marks the final season of competition in the Fitzgerald Field House before the Panthers move into the newly constructed Victory Heights.

- Third season at Pitt ... coaching stops at Arkansas, Western Michigan, and Missouri.
- Led the Panthers to tie for third at the 2024 ACC Championship.
- 8x All-American and two-time First Team All-SEC honoree at Arkansas.
2026 Roster Highlights
- The Panthers return 11 athletes from the 2025 squad, including 2023 NCAA All-Around Qualifier Hallie Copperwheat.
- Meika Lee impressed in her rookie season last year and was named the ACC Newcomer of the Week on Jan. 14.
- Jaime Pratt, Hallie Copperwheat and Layla Bobek earned Preseason All-ACC recognition heading into the season.
- Pitt's six new freshmen include Madi Bell, Layla Bobek, Kenzie Clark, Makenzie Grant, Lailah Green and Mali Morgan.
Representing Her Country!
- Freshman Mali Morgan was a member of the Great Britain Senior National Squad for the past three years.
- She represented Great Britain and Wales at both an international and national level as a senior.
