Casper Svendby Named to 2025 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List

KANSAS CITY – Senior defender Casper Svendby was named to the 2025 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, as announced by United Soccer Coaches Thursday. The Hermann Trophy, presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club, is the nation's highest individual honor recognizing the National Player of the Year.
Svendby, the reigning ACC Defensive Player of the Year and a 2024 First Team All-American, was one of 29 players nationally tabbed to the list. The Drammen, Norway, native helped anchor Pitt's back line to a program-best 0.90 goals-against average (GAA) a season ago, while contributing three goals and four assists for 10 total points.

The 2025 watch list was compiled by members of the Division I Men's All-America Council from a list of returning 2024 All-Americans and First Team All-Region players. A total of 15 players will be named 2025 Hermann Trophy semifinalists on December 9 at the conclusion of NCAA Division I All-American voting. From that list, head coaches will cast votes, and three players will be named finalists. The 2025 recipient will be announced Jan. 9, 2026, in a ceremony at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in downtown St. Louis, Mo.
