
Pitt Welcomes 12 to Incoming Freshman Class

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt softball team will welcome 12 incoming freshmen to Oakland in the fall. The talented incoming freshman class will look to make an immediate impact for the Panthers in 2026.
Cyara Geronimo | Miramar, Fla. (West Broward)
Cyara Geronimo comes to Pittsburgh from West Broward High School in Florida. The infielder batted .463 with three doubles, six triples, two home runs, and 22 RBI en route to earning 2025 Miami Herald First Team All-County and 2025 Sun Sentinel First Team All-County honors.
Payton Harris | Irvine, Calif. (Woodbridge)
Payton Harris joins the Panthers as a talented outfielder from California. The outfielder posted a .522 batting average, .616 on-base percentage, and .928 slugging percentage during her senior season. Harris earned All-CIF Southern Section for Division 3 and 2025 Pacific Coast First Team All-League honors.
Gracie Helton | Chickamauga, Ga. (Gordon Lee)
Helton is a highly decorated infielder from Gordon Lee High School in Georgia. She is a four-time all-region selection, four-time All-State team honoree, a three-time Walker County Player of the Year, a two-time Region Player of the Year, and was named the 2024 GA Class A Player of the Year and led her team to a Georgia Class A State title in 2024.
Calle Henne | Wexford, Pa. (Pine-Richland)
The local product from nearby Wexford, was named both the 2025 PIAA and WPIAL 6A Player of the Year while hitting the second most home runs in the WPIAL. The catcher holds the school single-season home run record and was a four-year letterwinner at Pine-Richland, posting a .562 batting average with a 1.344 slugging percentage and a 2.006 OPS during her senior year.
Mia Kliethermes | Westphalia, Mo. (Fatima)
Mia Kliethermes is a right-handed pitcher and two-time Missouri Class 3 State Champion out of Fatima High School. She finished her senior season with a 18-5 record in the circle with a 1.97 ERA and 108 strikeouts while also posting a .420 batting average with a .469 on-base percentage with 26 RBI. Kliethermes is a three-time Missouri Fastpitch Coaches Association All-District, All-Region, and All-State selection.
Amelia Long | Forest, Va. (Jefferson Forest)
The right-handed pitcher from Forest, Virginia, posted a 19-2 record with a 0.78 ERA during her senior season and has totaled over 500 career strikeouts. Long is a three-time First Team All-District selection, two-time All-Region team selection, two-time Region Player of the Year, two-time All-State First Team selection, and a two-time Virginia State Class 4 Runner-Up.
Allie Lukaszewicz | Chino Hills, Calif. (Ruben S. Ayala)
Allie Lukaszewicz is a left-handed pitcher out of Chino Hills, California. Lukaszewicz ended her senior season with a 1.28 ERA and 82 strikeouts and led her team to the CIF Division 1 semifinals. She was named the 2025 Palomares League Pitcher of the Year and earned Inland Empire Varsity First Team honors. She is a two-time First Team All-League selection and was named the 2024 SGV All Star Game Defensive Player of the Game.
Keara Mangieri | New Castle, Pa. (New Castle)
Another elite talent out of the WPIAL, Keara Mangieri was named the 2025 5A Player of the year by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette along with earning Class 5A Section MVP and First Team honors. The infielder batted .471 with a 1.314 and ranked among the top 5 in the state with 45 RBI and 36 runs scored. This past season, Mangieri led the state and set the WPIAL single season record with 16 home runs.
Luciana Moreno | Sun Prairie, Wisc. (Sun Prairie)
Luciana Moreno is a talented infielder from Wisconsin. Moreno posted a .476 batting average, 39 hits, 21 RBI, and two home runs during her senior season. She is a three-time All-State team selection, three-time MVP, and was selected for the Senior All-Star Games.
Addison Oberbreckling | Nashville, Tenn. (Nashville Christian)
Addison Oberbreckling joins the Panthers as a talented utility player out of Nashville, Tennessee. She is ranked No. 7 among first baseman in the Class of 2025 by Extra Innings Softball, while ranking 86th overall among the 2025 recruiting class. Oberbreckling is a three-time All-District selection, three-time Tennessean All Mid-State selection, two-time Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State selection, and the 2024 Division II A District 5 Hitter of the Year.
Amelia Thornton | Newnan, Ga. (The Heritage School)
Amelia Thornton is a talented two-way player from the Heritage School in Georgia. During her senior season, she posted a 1.01 ERA with 86 strikeouts while batting .681 with a .717 on-base percentage and 42 RBI. She was the 2024 Region Player of the Year while also garnering All-State and All-Region honors.
Addison Toczek | Hebron, Ind. (Hebron)
Addison Toczek posted a .432 batting average and 31 stolen bases while earning Second Team All-State honors, the Conference MVP award along with the Stolen Base Award and the Workhorse Award during her senior season. The outfielder is the school record holder at Hebron High School for home runs, stolen bases, hits, RBI, and total bases.
