PITTSBURGH – Logan Evans made his Major League Baseball debut for the Seattle Mariners on Sunday, less than two years following his selection in the 2023 MLB Draft.
Evans earned his first Major League win in his first Major League outing as he shined over five innings against the Miami Marlins. The Mariner's No. 10 prospect allowed just two runs on two hits with three strikeouts in five frames in his MLB debut.
He becomes the 23rd Panther in program history to reach the big league level. He is the first Panther under head coach Mike Bell to reach to pinnacle of professional baseball.
Hobie Harris and Blair Calvo were the most recent Panthers to make their debuts, each doing so in the 2023 season.
In the first pitch of his Major League career, Evans induced a quick groundout to himself. He logged his first career strikeout against Kyle Stowers for the first out in the top of the second inning.

Evans was selected in the 12th round by Seattle with the 367th overall pick of the 2023 MLB Draft. Of the 192 pitchers drafted before him in 2023, only eight have reached the Major League level so far.
In his two years with the Panthers from 2022-23, Evans made 23 starts in his 25 appearances. The Saline, MI native struck out 94 batters over 115.2 innings and earned nine wins while with the Pitt baseball program.
