PITTSBURGH, PA – Pitt Lacrosse will put it's second-ever three-game win streak in play Saturday, as the No. 8 Syracuse Orange visit Pittsburgh. First draw is set for 11 AM at Highmark Stadium.
Syracuse has been victorious in the three previous meetings between the two teams, most recently in 2024 by a score of 16-7 in New York. Jenna Hendrickson scored two goals, while Kaitlyn Giandonato, Madigan Lublin and Sydney Naylor each added a goal a piece.
Pitt is coming off of a midweek win over Liberty, 15-6 on Wednesday at home. Avery Moon scored a personal best four goals while Jill Fenech and Hendrickson each netted hat tricks. The team set a program record with 31 ground balls and 22 caused turnovers in the game, led by a single-game Panther record of seven ground balls and six caused turnovers by Natalie Voorhees. The Panthers now rank fifth in the NCAA in ground balls and caused turnovers per game after their last performance.
The Orange sit at 4-4 overall and 1-2 in the ACC so far in 2025. The No. 8 team in the nation lost their last game, a 14-13 non-conference defeat to then No. 10 Johns Hopkins. They do already boast two top-ten wins: 15-9 over No. 7 Maryland and 14-13 over No. 7 Stanford (2OT). Attacker Emma Ward is the major offensive threat for the Orange, with 18 goals and 21 assists already through eight games. Megan Rode has grabbed 28 draw controls to lead the Syracuse draw unit and goalie Daniella Guyette has made 82 saves with a .485 save percentage in net.
