ALLEGANY, NY – Pitt Women's Lacrosse commences year four of the program with a road contest in New York Saturday. The Panthers will take on the St. Bonaventure Bonnies at the Tom 80' and Michelle Marra Athletics Field Complex, with first draw scheduled for 11 AM.
This is the second time in four seasons that Pitt has started their year away from Highmark Stadium, as they made the long trip to downtown Pittsburgh in 2023 and defeated Duquesne 16-10. 2025 will mark the first year that the Panthers have not opened the season battling the Dukes, as they have accumulated a 3-0 mark all time in those contests.
Pitt returns 29 from last year's roster and welcomes nine newcomers, including eight freshmen and one transfer. Two seniors look to pace the Panther attack: Jenna Hendrickson (51G, 15A) and Sydney Naylor (62G, 21A). Naylor is first all-time in the Pitt record books with 83 career points. The defensive starters played the majority of minutes together in 2024 with Abby Thorne, Rachel Familetti, Natalie Voorhees, Gracie Kahoun and Megan Sheridan all returning to action again. Junior Molly Cain will begin the season in the cage for Pitt and looks to build on a .394 career save percentage.
St. Bonaventure finished 2024 with an 8-9 overall record, including a 4-5 record in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Panthers and Bonnies have faced off once before, a non-conference matchup on February 20, 2022. Pitt prevailed with a 22-8 win at Highmark Stadium. Current Panthers Madigan Lublin, Coughlin, Thorne, Naylor, Familetti, Devon Cavanaugh, Fenech, Voorhees, Talia Zuco, Maureen McNierney, Hendrickson and Riley Patrick all saw action in the victory.

Following Saturday's opener, Pitt Lacrosse will welcome two straight non-conference foes to Pittsburgh when Arizona State (Feb. 12) and Penn State (Feb. 18) come to town. Both games and all home games this year at Highmark Stadium are free admission for all fans.
